Morigaon district is spread over an area of 1450.02 Sq. Km. The district is surrounded on the west by Kamrup district, on the North by river Brahmaputra, on the East by Nagaon District and on the South by Karbi Anglong district. The major land area of the district is an alluvial plain with many waterways, rivers and marshes. The northern part of the district is flooded by the river Brahmaputra, while rivers Killing, Kollong and Kapili rivers flow through the south of the district.
