West Bengal Districts
West Bengal, the gateway to eastern India is renowned for its rich cultural legacy and mind-blowing natural rhapsodies. As per statistics, West Bengal possesses 19 districts that have been formed to take care of the administrative exigencies.

Out of the 19 districts of West Bengal, the capital city Kolkata holds a special place. Kolkata, the erstwhile capital of British India is aptly nicknamed the City of Joy. The urban metropolis, situated on the Hoogly River is the administrative, industrial, economic and cultural capital of West Bengal.

Barddhaman is a relatively urban and industrially developed district that is popularly called the granary of West Bengal. The district is at the forefront of the state's agriculture, industry, and mining. The prosperous coalfields and the Damodar Valley Corporation contribute substantially to the state's industrial activity.
