South-garo-hills



The South Garo Hills district covers an area of 1850 sq.km. Inhabited mostly by the tribals, the population count is 99,100 as per 2001 census. The district lies on the Southern part of the state of Meghalaya.

Agriculture is the main source of livelihood, though horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, forestry and small-scale industries also contribute to the economic distribution of the district.
