Thoubal

The Thoubal District covering an area of 514 sq. km. is situated in the state of Manipur. The district lies between 23° 45'and 24°45' N latitudes and between 93°45'and 94°15' E longitudes. It is bounded by Imphal district on the north, by Ukhrul and Chandel districts on the east, by Chandel and Churachandpur districts on the south and by the districts of Imphal and Bishnupur on the west.

Most of the people of Thoubal earn their living through agriculture. The main crops cultivated in the district are rice, paddy, mustard seeds, pulses, sugarcane, oilseeds, maize, potatoes, fruits, chilies and vegetables. Animal husbandry, fishing, production of cocoons and raw silk, handloom and handicraft industry and motor vehicle repairing also share the economic map of Thoubal.
