Tamenglong

Tamenglong covers an area of 4,391 sq km. and situates itself between 24.59° North latitude and 93.30° East longitude. Inhabited mainly by Zeliangrong Naga, Kuki, Hmar, Chiru, Khasi and such other tribes, Tamenglong is home to 86,278 as per 1991 census.

Forestry and agriculture provide sources of livelihood for the people of Tamenglong.

Places of tourist attraction are:

    * The 7 waterfalls along the river Barak
    * Tharon cave
    * Zeilad Lake,Makoi
    * The Buning (N-piulong)
