Churachandpur

Churachandpur District, in the southwestern corner of Manipur, covers an area of 4570 sq.km.and lies between 23° 55' and 24° 30' North Latitudes and between 92° 59' to 93° 50' East longitudes. It is home to 2,23,866 people, as per 2001 census, dominated by 15 ethnic groups like the Chin, Kuki, Mizo, Naga and Zomi.

Churachandpur mainly follows a mono-crop economy during the non-monsoon months. Apart from agriculture, animal husbandry and weaving provides the livelihood.
