West-kameng



The name of the West Kameng District has been derived from the name of the Kameng River. The West Kameng District has three sub divisions naming Bomdila, Rupa, and Thirizino and the district headquarter is located at Bomdila. The transportation system of this district is very good and they have connected the land by air, rail and roadways.

According to the Census 2001 the total population of West Kameng recorded was 74,595. the main tribals of this district are the Aka, Miji, Monpa, Bugun Sherdukpen folks who practice their own religious norms.

West Kameng of Arunachal Pradesh attracts tourists across the globe. This district is a perfect representation of the splendid beauty of nature.

The primary economy resource of for West Kameng district is agriculture. A large portion of the total land area is dedicated for cultivation and vegetation.
