According to the census 2001 the total population of the Lower Dibang Valley District was counted 50,438 among which majority of the population is constituted by the male folk. Lower Dibang Valley is basically the youngest member of the districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The headquarter of this district is at Roing. The Lower Dibang Valley has derived its name from the Dibang river which originates from the China and later after flows through the valley.
Lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh is located in the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh. This district is surrounded by the Dibang Valley District on the north and the east side is bounded by the McMohan Line and the Lohit District. The Upper Siang District is situated on the west side, and on the southern part this district is bounded by the Tinsukia district of the neighboring state Assam.
Adi and Mishmi are the two major tribes of this district and thus consist the majority of population. The foothills of the Himalayn range is the birth place of the Lower Dibang Valley District of Arunachal Pradesh, which rises up to the middle ranges. Rich flora and fauna, majestic valleys, snow covered picks, incessant flowing rivers are the major attractions of this district.
Thick green forests which covers almost 80% of the total area is the prime attraction of this districts to many eminent botanists and zoologists across the globe.
