The annual fair of Dang Darbar is held in the city of Surat in the early months of spring. The fair represents the age old tradition of the kings and the chieftains of the territory of Surat who would visit the region to meet in the popular Darbar. The present day gathering witnesses the assemblage of the tribal people from various parts of the district.
The Dang Darbar of Surat is celebrated a few days before the festival of Holi. The annual fair is presently popular as the Jamabandi Darbar. The festivities in the Dang Darbar in Surat displays the culture and tradition of the region. The tribal people who gather in the fair appear in their best traditional attires and garments. The gay atmosphere is marked by the sound of the drum and the musical instrument of the shehnai.
The Dang Durbar at Surat also exhibits the arts and crafts of the tribal people who find a good market for their goods in the fair.
