The old town has many interesting buildings, such as the Mandvi Tower, which is marvelously colored. The center of the old town is called the Darbar Gadh where the former Maharaja of Nawanagar faced the public audiences.The Jamnagar state bus stand and the new railway station are far apart and both are distant from the center of the city. So better take an auto rickshaw. You can find accommodation in Teen Batti Chowk. There are a few commodious economical hotels near the Bedi Gate.
English-language dailies can be seen in Jamnagar of Gujarat at the newsstand near the Hotel Swati restaurant. The Corporation Bank, which lies just inside Bedi Gate, is the place where you can exchange travelers cheques on weekdays between 1 am and 3 pm.

* Air -The Indian Airlines office is on Bhid Bhanjan Road and is open from 10.30 am to 5 pm. Indian Airlines flies four flights a week to Mumbai.
* Bus -There are STC buses to Rajkot every half an hour, and to Dwarka, Porbandar, Bhuj, Junagadh and Ahmedabad.
* Train - There are direct trains from Mumbai and Ahmedabad via Rajkot.
If you wish to go around Jamnagar of Gujarat you can avail auto rickshaws as well as taxis and cabs. Local buses are also there.
