The district of Sangrur lies on the southern part of Punjab. The Sangrur district covers a wide area of 502417 hectares and is the 3rd largest district of the state. It has a population of 2000173 with sex ratio of 874 females per 1000 males. The state has a literacy rate of 69.95% with many governmental and private educational institutions. The district has many places of tourist attractions. Some of them are, Ahmedgarh, Akoi, Badrukhan, Bagrian and Bihla.
